Research abstract
The Conversational Artificial Intelligence for Risk Operations (CAIRO) tool, developed by LGND, is an innovative AI-driven solution initially designed to address the challenges faced by cybersecurity and managed detection and response (MDR) companies. CAIRO empowers professionals by simplifying complex workflows, automating analysis, and delivering actionable insights in seconds through natural language interaction. Its demonstrated success in the commercial sector positions CAIRO as an ideal candidate for implementation within the Department of Defense (DoD) to tackle similar challenges of data complexity and decision-making under pressure. While the DoDĺs Advana platform centralizes and streamlines its vast data ecosystem, providing end users with tools and dashboards to access critical information, key challenges remain. Analysts, risk officers, and operations managers must still sift through overwhelming volumes of data, navigate dashboards, and switch between disparate systems to complete their workflows. These inefficiencies result in delays, missed opportunities, and incomplete analyses during critical moments. Advana excels at data aggregation and overviews, and we can expand its capability to deliver immediate, actionable answers and enable seamless workflow execution within a single system.Integrating CAIRO with Advana presents a transformative opportunity to address these gaps. Through this integration, operations, intelligence, and risk management teams will gain the ability to ask natural language questions and instantly receive tailored visualizations, actionable insights, and anomaly detection. For instance, a logistics officer could query resource bottlenecks, while an intelligence analyst could uncover emerging threats, all without leaving the platform.Through the SBIR program, we aim to configure CAIRO to meet the DoDĺs rigorous security standards and specific mission needs, ensuring its seamless integration with existing systems like Advana. CAIROĺs ability to automate analysis and simplify workflows positions it as a transformative capability for enhancing decision-making efficiency and operational agility across the DoD.
