Research abstract

This proposal presents an opportunity to support the Army in its efforts to reduce the risk and cost of disposing field-feeding food waste. Specifically, this proposal aims to rapidly convert putrescible, field-feeding food waste and slop into inert residuals that can easily be disposed on-site. We propose to achieve the Army’s goals for this technology using an innovative, stable, and rapid Enzyme-based, Food Waste Remediation System that produces a high rate of food waste conversion and therefore results in a compact, self-contained, low maintenance, low cost, waste remediation system. The Enzyme-based Food Waste Remediation System offers the Army multiple benefits.
