Research abstract

With new advances, future developments and recent demonstrations by adversaries, there are significant and urgent needs for new sensor and intercept concepts and technologies. There are clear needs for new configurations that avoid critical points of failure. To satisfy these needs, Arete conceived a new distributed architecture consisting of smart nodes with broad radio frequency (RF) receiver nodes to leverage passive bistatic radar sensing capable of detection and tracking without heavy data communications. In this Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) effort, Arete proposes to continue the work started in Phase I and apply and demonstrate these new concepts.
