Research abstract

Dindl Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. will demonstrate the use of an expanding 40mm high explosive warhead to produce the desired blast characteristics at the target. A low risk design is being used where the explosive payload weight is similar to the existing M100 GREM. The blast characteristics will be accomplished by expanding annd reshaping the explosive payload at the target. Modeling and simulation will continue to be used to support static and gun launched projectile experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.
