Research abstract

AFRL/MNGI seeks algorithms to maximally exploit the capabilities of emerging multi-resolution foveal sensors that can flexibly allocate their resolution to focus on multiple targets of interest without sacrificing overall situational awareness. SET Corporation proposes to develop extensible solutions based on our proven capabilities to automatically detect, acquire, and track multiple targets and decades of collective research in real-time sensing and active vision. Teamed with Nova Sensors, SET will map these algorithms to the hardware architecture of Nova’s proven Variable Acuity Superpixel Imaging (VASI) multi-resolution foveal camera systems. Finally, SET will chart a course for building even more advanced foveal attention capabilities based upon the solid foundation established in this Phase I effort.
