Research abstract

Triton Systems, Inc. proposes to develop a self contained, energy scavenging, biomimetic submarine detection system. This system will incorporate state of the art energy scavenging techniques, innovative station keeping and buoyancy control mechanisms, and low power electronics to create a stealthy, long lasting sonobuoy detector. The system is designed for extended usage and can self recharge and redeploy while maintaining in the approximate region of its initial deployment. In Phase I Trion will build the various subsystems of the sonobuoy and test them in a large-scale facility to prove the feasibility of the technology and provide the basis for the next generation of sonobuoy sensors.
