Research abstract

Scientists have made a lot of efforts to achieve subwavelength imaging or super-resolution imaging with a slab of metal film or layered materials. Generally it is hard to obtain images with resolution finer than the wavelength of light. Layered materials recently were proposed to realize the super-resolution imaging in the near field. In this SBIR program, we will carry out theoretical and experimental study on super-resolution imaging using transparent metal/dielectric multilayer stacks. We are confident that this proposed study will provide a better understanding for negative refraction of transparent metal/dielectric multilayer stacks.
