Research abstract

Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) proposes the development of methods to protect the Target Telemetry Communication and Control Systems (TTCCS) of missile targets which are to be flown and irradiated by future directed energy weapons systems during their test and evaluation. The missiles will be exposed to high power laser and microwave radiation sufficient to destroy them but for range safety the TTCCS units must remain functional in spite of exposure to damaging energy levels. TTCCS designs will be analyzed and methods to harden them developed for both high power lasers and microwaves.
