Research abstract

A hearing protection system is proposed that allows the user to listen to ambient acoustic sounds at safe levels. The frequency and phase response of the system reproduces that of an unoccluded ear. Thus, directivity is maintained and a natural sound is achieved. The system is fully wireless and a noise dosimeter is integrated into the system.
