Research abstract

A working prototype of a hand-carriable, JP-8 powered, load-following microgenerator scalable to one kilowatt is proposed. It is based on proprietary, previously demonstrated microgenerator technology. The existing system will be mated to modified micro-UAV engine technology augmented with tribological coatings and customized porting, intended to operate not only on JP-8 but a variety of fuels, including gasoline. Preliminary evaluations have shown good correlation between efficient regions of operation in separate subsystems.
