Research abstract

Bodkin Design & Engineering propose to build and install a BRDF measurement capability in to the Space Threat Assessment Testbed (STAT) at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). It will be able to measure test materials while they are in the simulated space environment at cryogenic temperature.  In this way the results will not be confounded by the influence of the atmosphere. It will be capable of providing data in the visible through long wave infrared; providing BRDF, Spectral BRDF, Polarization BRDF and Total Integrated Scattering using both broadband and laser sources.
