Research abstract

Overall, the objective of the SENSORS project is to develop a medical sensor array to be worn by the warfighter during battle simulation to gather and broadcast information about stress level and cognitive state. While several organizations have and are currently investigating all aspects of this problem, there is no acceptable solution. Based on the findings and analysis in Phase I, Phase II technical objectives are to: Design and prototype an integrated, head-mounted neurological/physiological monitoring system capable of measuring multiple high-priority parameters from the head and neck. Provide innovative system design by building upon currently available technologies or upon those currently in development. Allow measurement of parameters while warfighter operates machinery at console. Develop algorithms aimed to determine cognitive stress state from multiple physiological parameters.
