Research abstract

In the proposed Phase II detector development program Intevac will design, build and test three units of a detector, including power supply, that meets the objective and description for the High Bandwidth Photodetector for Missile Applications as described in SBIR N03-194. The Conceptual design has largely been completed in Phase I. In Phase II the detailed design of the detector, amplifier, and power supply will be accomplished and three complete units will be built and delivered. The engineering development required appears straightforward. The major concerns to be addressed include the packaging of the detector and its power supply in the available volume, tube geometry and material selection to minimize after-pulsing, and overall package environmental qualifications. In addition, seven units will be built and subjected to environmental testing during this phase.
