Research abstract

San Diego Research Center (SDRC) and Brigham young University (SRJ technologies) propose to develop, build and demonstrate in hardware a highly adaptive OFDM Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) communications system for support of mobile military scenarios. In the proposed Phase 2 Base Program, the team will build, and demonstrate, in a base-band two-node "testbed" system that enables MIMO benefits in mobile, jamming scenarios. In the proposed Option Program, and with industry and DARPA Enhancement funding, SDRC will perform mobile, field demonstrations in diverse settings to clearly show the applicability of MIMO paradigms to military applications (e.g. forested, open, waterside, transition, suburban and urban).
