Research abstract

The below core TACFI efforts were explicitly requested by 97 AMW leadership to expand and enhance the current virtual training efforts to increase training effectiveness, accessibility, and establish the conditions for base-wide adoption: Expand from 1 to 5 custom-built virtual training modules: Passenger Bus, Tractor-Trailer, and 3 Fuel Vehicles.Develop and implement user voice control capabilities with 95%+ recognition accuracy.Implement Advanced Real-Time Collaboration CapabilitiesDevelop administrative controls and analytics for instructors and administrators, including natural language prompting that will allow users to receive answers and data from simple text prompts, improving the ease-of-use.Ensuring AFNet compatibility and scalable content delivery.Key technical risks include potential integration challenges with Air Force systems and maintaining performance across various devices. Mitigation strategies involve close collaboration with Air Force IT personnel, rigorous testing across multiple platforms, and working toward AFNet compliance. Traverse3D may use TACFI funds to work with proven vendors such as Second Front Systems to comply with AFNet regulations.Programmatic risks include potential delays in obtaining necessary approvals or changes in Air Force requirements. These will be mitigated through regular communication with stakeholders and a flexible development approach. Utilization risk is common when large entities like the DoD adopt new solutions. Traverse3D is emphasizing intuitive user experiences throughout the design, eliminating the need for subject matter experts to teach users how to use the training platform. This mitigates the risk associated with technical POCs or instructor availability or turnover, which often causes digital platforms to languish. Rather, the Traverse3D module will be self-sustaining once it is incorporated into the regular training process.
