Research abstract

WaveBand Corporation (WaveBand), in collaboration with Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), proposes to demonstrate the design of a combined cooperative and non-cooperative sensor suite capable of integrated detection and deconfliction that are sufficient to support UAV operation as required by FAA Order 7610.4. The WaveBand/SNC team represents a unique combination of WaveBand's innovative radar design capabilities and SNC's thorough understanding of system requirements and platform integration. Phase I will define the top level requirements and system performance requirements of the Multi-Sensor Detect, See, and Avoid System for Cooperative and Non-Cooperative Unmanned and Manned Aircraft. The MSDSA will provide an integrated detection and deconfliction capability and will consist of an RF solution consisting of an L-band box and a compact, light weight 94 GHz radar system.
