Research abstract

Foster-Miller proposes to design and develop a textile network for physiological monitoring on the battlefield. The textile can be a platform for Warfighter Physiological Status Monitoring, Combat Casualty Care, and other types of sensors. In the successful Phase I program, Foster-Miller demonstrated the feasibility of manufacturing a conductive textile suitable for use as a network, as well as the ability to transmit data across clothing layers. In the Phase II program, we will design, produce, and test samples of the knitted textile. The fabric will be converted into a garment and tested as part of a physiological sensor system. The textile network is a key enabling technology for the integration of WPSM/CCC into the soldier ensemble for the Objective Force Warrior program. (P-030513)
