Research abstract

The proposed technique uses a mix of time-based acoustical and seismic information which will not only determine the functionality of the individual submunitions, as well as determine the location of their detonations. This is accomplished real-time, remotely and automatically. By optimizing the signal to noise ratios and using appropriate matched filters and sensor fusion techniques, the possibility exists for locating and determining the timing and level of detonation. The technology permits immediate feedback for optimized training and efficient acceptance testing.
