Research abstract

Veteran suicide rates remain alarmingly high, with existing mental health tools falling short in providing adaptive, culturally sensitive, and real-time support to therapists. Innsightful proposes the development of Innsightful-C, an AI-powered mental health co-pilot designed to assist therapists in managing suicidality among diverse veteran populations. This system integrates advanced AI models to detect subtle risk factors, provide real-time insights, and simulate diverse personalities for training and evaluation.Phase I focuses on developing a prototype with real-time conversational insights and a Personality Creation Engine to enhance cultural relevance and therapeutic engagement. Subject matter experts will validate its effectiveness through simulated scenarios, laying the groundwork for Phase II advancements. Innsightful-C addresses critical gaps in suicide prevention, equipping therapists with tools to deliver equitable, empathetic care and improve outcomes for at-risk populations.
