Research abstract

HyPerComp has significant computational strengths in electromagnetics, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), fluid mechanics and other disciplines for modeling complex large-scale problems of interest to the DoD community.  Our flagship codes, HDphysics-RF and DG-PIC, along with our expertise in modeling complex antenna arrays coupled to surrounding structures/plasma will be employed to elevate the numerical modeling capability for space-borne VLF antennas that can efficiently deliver power to the whistler waves under the wide variety of high-energy charged particles that prevail in the radiation belts.
