Research abstract
The Gronstedt Group, in partnership with OptTek Systems, Inc. (OptTek), proposes a revolutionary immersive training system for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) operators. Our solution, called Battle Rhythm, combines stunning 3D visualization, real-time tactical gameplay, and multiplayer team coordination in an immersive environment.ÝIt will be backed by advanced mission-level simulation scenarios that provide realistic timing and behaviors for red threat systems and blue defensive assets. This foundation enables straightforward variation of training scenarios, keeping training fresh and engaging. To further enhance the learning experience, Battle Rhythm employs a sophisticated reinforcement learning architecture that continuously builds trainee performance models by analyzing metrics, including reaction time, threat assessment accuracy, and team coordination patterns. Dynamically adjusting scenario difficulty, it generates personalized learning paths based on identified skill gaps. Natural language processing powers and AI coaching systems provide real-time guidance during missions. This adaptive framework ensures that each training session optimally challenges crews while systematically addressing performance gaps through targeted scenario generation.ÝAccessible anywhereófrom schoolhouses to shipboard deploymentóon a variety of platforms, including handheld gaming PCs, stationary PCís, and XR headsets, this solution is designed to transform IAMD training. Operators will assume roles within a simulated ship environment, collaborating to detect, classify, and engage incoming air and missile threats using realistic sensor data and simulated weapon systems. Through extensive, realistic practice, crews will develop unconscious competence and split-second decision-making critical for combat, achieving the essential Battle Rhythm.ÝThe Gronstedt Group brings unmatched expertise in developing award-winning training simulations, including a pioneering submarine maintenance trainer and a Naval wargame. Our strategic partnership with OptTek incorporates world-class optimization algorithms and air and missile defense expertise, ensuring precise modeling of complex engagement scenarios. OptTekís work with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Navy, Air Force, and Army analysts has demonstrated the significant impact that pairing simulation, AI/ML, optimization, and analysis can have on strategic planning, IAMD, and other forms of DoD mission and campaign analysis. Together, we will deliver a comprehensive training solution that reduces preparation time, optimizes resource utilization, and most importantly, enables crews to execute IAMD missions with the automated precision that only comes from immersive, repetitive practice. Leveraging Gronstedt Group and OptTekís previous experience and assets will enable a quick path to test and demonstrate a successful Phase I Battle Rhythm capability and establish a firm foundation for Phase II.
