Research abstract

AURA proposes to develop a reliable, affordable fault protection system for Medium Voltage DC (MVDC) power distribution systems that is compatible with breaker and breakerless technologies; such a system does not currently exist on the market. This system comprises reliable voltage and current sensors, their integration into the circuit architecture of a typical MVDC system such as the Integrated Power and Energy System (IPES) that operates between 1kV and 12 kV, and a device to perform the necessary signal processing functions.
