Research abstract

Additive manufacturing (AM) has become a forcing function for instituting and enhancing end-to-end digital supply chain cyber-physical security – from technical data sources and repositories (IT capabilities) to manufacturing execution, fabrication, inspection, and process feedback (operational technology (OT) capabilities) and, critically, the IT-OT interface. The proposed capabilities comprise a secure, transactional, cyber-physical trusted digital manufacturing (DM) hardware/software solution (TrustedDM™) to secure the OT data path, AM machines, and fabrication and integration with upstream N-PLM systems to secure technical data and interface with TrustedDM and a secure feedback return path.
