Research abstract

We are proposing a standalone toolkit inspection station, which can semi-autonomously perform tool inspections for USAF tool asset management groups. This includes scanning all tool kits for missing tools, foreign object debris (FOD), tool wear, and misplaced tools. The system utilizes machine vision to perform these tasks, and interfaces with an operator using a local touchscreen interface. The system integrates seamlessly with TCMax, the existing Air Force tool asset management database, to minimize impact to the Air Force.
