Research abstract

Biological vision systems capture and process extremely complex environments with high temporal resolution and dynamic range, enabling novel processing methods. Conventional frame imaging still retains key advantages in available spatial resolution and an ecosystem of mature processing algorithms. By combining AretÚĺs expertise and established algorithms in frame image tracking, event-based tracking, track fusion, geodetic mapping and registration, and real-time low-SWaP hardware development, we provide a hybrid imaging solution to meet Space Forceĺs needs. This effort will establish the potential performance of the novel combined image processing pipeline and define system requirements for future prototyping efforts.
