Research abstract

Rampart Communications, Inc. will partner with OPS Consulting LLC to build a low SWaP Tactical Ultra-secure Communication System prototype. This system will host a Mulligan-class waveform that ensures Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) and Low Probability of Detection (LPD) communications. Mulligan is a zero-signature, zero-dependency waveform framework, offering superior cryptographic security and reliability when compared to existing communication systems. Emanations associated with a Mulligan-class waveform do not have any signatures for an adversary to exploit, and critical control plane data left unprotected by conventional encryption is always protected with Mulligan-class waveforms. Unlike other LPD solutions, Mulligan waveforms do not rely on GPS, atomic clocks, exquisite hardware, or large SWaP needs. In this Phase II, Rampart will demonstrate the benefits of a tactical handheld FPGA-based Mulligan-secured radio prototype.
