Research abstract

We propose to mount the proprietary mm-wave polarized radar on a moving vehicle traveling at 1 to 20 miles per hour, to automatically scan foliage and activate alarms upon detecting threats. The proposed system comprises a vehicle, cameras connected to an edge server for recognizing and locating foliage up to 450 feet away, two pan and tilt gimbals with proprietary mm-wave polarized radar sensors mounted on the vehicle's front corners, and cameras to record video clips or stills of flagged threats. Alarms are triggered by matching radar reflections against threat classifiers. Upon raising an alarm, the system records a video clip of the suspect threat and overlays a circular target on the location.
