Research abstract

In this Phase II Program, TrustPoint will build on the outcomes of the Phase I focus areas DON User Equipment Interoperability Assessment, Alternative PNT (APNT) Architecture Assessment, and APNT Performance Assessment, and prototype a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) TrustPoint APNT Receiver and Multi-Element C-band Receive Antenna. The Prototype Receiver will be capable of forming GPS-independent time and positioning solutions using TrustPoint’s C-band APNT Service, and will interface with the Embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) Inertial Navigation System (INS) – Modernized (EGI-M) system or other DON-directed system to provide continuity of PNT services in the event of GPS jamming and/or spoofing in L-band. This Phase II thus pairs TrustPoint’s industry-leading microsatellite-based systems, patented signals technology, and commercial C-band APNT Service providing frequency diversity that meets the DON’s critical mission need for PNT Resiliency in GPS-denied environments.
