Research abstract

Corvid Technologies, in collaboration with Haigh-Farr, Inc., will design, develop, build, and test prototype antennas for a hypersonic glide vehicle for use in weapons system testing. A key component to the DoD’s successful development of counter-hypersonics weapon systems will be the ability to test tracking and intercept capabilities against live-fire targets.  Furthermore, a critical aspect of such systems is the robust data collection ability to inform post-test reconstruction and anchor pre-test modeling. The antennas developed during this effort will be developed for a sub-scale hypersonic glide body, accounting for signal attenuation through hypersonic flow, as well as thermal protection of the antenna material.  Corvid will develop environmental requirements and predictive models of performance, and will perform ground testing under relevant thermal and vibrational environments to anchor those models.
