Research abstract

The objective of the proposed STTR research effort by Spectral Energies, LLC and Penn State University aims to develop and manufacture high-efficiency, high-damage-threshold, large-format microstructure high reflector for the Army. This is achieved through advanced 2D grating micro-structure waveguide resonance and coating design and simulation, high-fidelity simulations to predict device optical response, advanced electron-beam (e-beam) lithography, conformal coating via e-beam evaporation, and thorough structural, optical response, and high energy laser device examination.
