Research abstract

Expanding upon a successful Phase I program, the Triton Team will further develop an extended range system to enable airborne forces the execute missions at low altitude.  The system enables parachutists to jump from a release point located further from the target than is feasible with any other system available. The parachutist will be able to employ the system without significant additional training or modifications to emergency procedures while maintaining a minimal signature profile. Features, concepts, and prototypes developed in the Phase I effort will be refined and iterated upon to best meet the needs of the application.  The resulting system prototypes will be tested and demonstrated to facilitate near-term validation, qualification, and transition.
