Research abstract

COTSWORKS proposes the development of a Light Source and Power Meter that will test over SWDM and CWDM wavelength bands at the same time over multimode optical fiber.  The goal of Phase 1 is to develop the optical receiver that will spatially and spectrally separate the individual wavelength of each band. A Thin Film Filter Optical Module will be developed. The Light Source and Power Meter will be automated such that the end-user can simply connect the fibers, push a button and get the results. This will reduce testing time, allow for testing over all fiber lengths, and ensure the test is being performed over the appropriate wavelength band.
