Research abstract

Everactive is the market leader providing self-powered wireless monitors for industrial applications, and has the only product on the market that uses a custom system-on-chip that is optimized for operating from power harvested from light or heat. The DoD is seeking environmentally hardened wireless sensors that persistently monitor Radio Frequency, weather conditions, and/or personnel access of remote islands leased on the Kwajalein Atoll for the U.S. Army's Reagan Test Site (RTS). Everactive’s industrial sensors are batteryless, maintenance free, wireless with a range >1km, IP-66 rated for harsh environments, and at their core are differentiated by Everactive’s 3rd-generation system-on-chip that is optimized for operating exclusively from harvested power. In this Phase 1 effort, Everactive proposes to adapt and deploy these industrial sensors at the RTS to meet the needs of this topic. Everactive has a proven track record with >20,000 batteryless sensors installed in industrial environments and operating maintenance-free, wirelessly transmitting to the cloud, and drawing 100% of their energy from light or heat with no battery.
