Research abstract

Threats to GPS have led to new GPS receiver designs that are intended to operate in a GPS denied environment. There is a need to have precision location and time data to test these new GPS receivers on static, dynamic, and autonomous moving platforms in a GPS denied environment to determine the effectiveness of the new GPS system. Since most position and time truth systems in use rely on GPS themselves, there is a need to have an alternative means to provide precise location and time without relying on GPS signals. This effort enhances a capability that fuses multiple types of ambient non-GPS radio signals with other sensor data to determine the new GPS system’s ability to correctly produce location within the GPS contested environment. In Phase II, this system was successfully able to maintain PNT using various terrestrial and non-GNSS satellite signals. During this effort, hardware enhancements will be made and evaluated in a contested environment.
