Research abstract

Optical frequency combs play an essential role in modern timekeeping and metrology. To date, however, frequency combs are primarily laboratory tools, owing to their size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) and fragility. To operationalize frequency combs for real-world use, Vector Atomic and Harvard University will develop a Tunable, Integrated Comb for Timing and Communications (TIC TAC).
