Research abstract

In Phase I Attollo engineering will evaluate the design of an ultra-broad band optical element and the computational imaging algorithms required to deconvolve the optical element from the measured intensity image. This will enable a greatly volume/complexity reduced hyperspectral imager. The optical design work will be performed by extending the already demonstrated Attollo design to a broader wavelength and working with the manufacturer to demonstrate the design computationally. The algorithm development will be undertaken to leverage classical computation imaging algorithms for optical element smearing deconvolution to calculate the spectral content present in each pixel. The orthogonal nature of the optical element will assist in the deconvolution process, as multiple smear patters will create an over defined solution space rather than an underdefined one.
