Research abstract

Hypres proposes to develop a Josephson Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier (TWPA) with very low noise for detecting weak RF signals covering a wide frequency range of 20 GHz or above. This will be constructed from an array of Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUIDs). In Phase I, Hypres will design and simulate such a TWPA according to the design rules of the superconducting integrated circuit foundry at MIT Lincoln Lab. In Phase II, Hypres will fabricate and test this TWPA, and integrate it with the Advanced Digital-RF Receiver (ADR) which Hypres has already delivered to several DoD Labs. Ā
