Research abstract
Solid State Scientific Corporation (SSSC) proposes to transition a novel artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML) Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) technique that was already developed during Phase II to the Common Open Architecture Radar Processing Specifications (COARPs).Ā This so-called AI/ML GMTI modeĀmitigates false alarms caused by windblown foliage and other nonstationary clutter while maintaining the ability to detect slowly moving ground targets. The signal processing software will be transitioned to a COARPs mode development kit (MDK) to be provided by the government.Ā The performance will be demonstrated using flight test data selected by the Army.Ā The proposed work supports the Army modernization priorities by pursuing an open standards COARPs approach to decouple mode development from hardware development. Rapid development is facilitated by allowing more competition for radar improvements, technology insertion and technology refresh.ĀĀ
