Research abstract

The goal is to develop a novel method of estimating the spatial dynamics of moving ground targets from airborne or spaceborne radar data.  We frame this problem in a global optimization framework, and reduce the dimensionality of the parameter space by using an eigenfunction expansion for the (yaw, pitch, roll) time vectors.  During Phase II performance will be evaluated on radar flight test data, and motion estimates will be compared with measured inertial measurement unit (IMU) data.
