Research abstract

Phase II of the KGISR project is committed to advancing the development of IntelliGraph, a working prototype of advanced graph analytics platform for intelligence analysis , built upon the foundation achieved in Phase I. Reflecting on Phase I achievements, we developed foundational ISR graph analytics using the Knowledge Graph ToolKit (KGTK) from USC/ISI, evaluated various machine learning algorithms for graph data, and assessed additional software tools for graph visualization. Phase II will extend these efforts by focusing on creating a scalable backend for graph data management to handle the vast data volumes characteristic of ISR domains, developing a comprehensive data integration fabric to unify disparate data sources, and enhancing graph analytics capabilities to address the complex needs of the ISR domain more effectively than current commercial products. This phase also prioritizes the development of sophisticated visualization tools to support intuitive user interfaces and meet the US military's goal of conducting ISR "at machine speed".  The project’s significance is further amplified with interest from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), for its intelligence analysis applications. This phase brings together an experienced and complementary team of graph machine learning researchers, software developers, and a commercial partner to broaden the project's impact beyond defense sectors.
