Research abstract

In response to the Navy SBIR Topic N241-022, titled Precision Sensing for AS(X) Submarine Tenders, Triton Systems, Inc. will develop an environmentally resilient, precision sensing system capable of providing real-time relative positioning and orientation between a submarine, its tender, and the cargo in open water replenishment operations. To meet the topic requirements of operability at distances of up to 50 feet horizontally and 30 feet vertically, regardless of day, night, fog, salt spray, icing, haze, or rain, and requiring no permanent targets or sensors to be added to the submarine, Triton’s solution leverages sensors proven in all weather conditions and robust sensor fusion and position estimation techniques.
