Research abstract

AF242-0001 Phase I seeks to create a digital twin of legacy aircraft, specifically the B-52H legacy aircraft system. Crossflow Technologies, Inc. (ōCrossflowö) will provide CAD and SysML models of the B-52, which will create a proof-of-concept level demonstration of integrating two disparate models into a foundational Digital Twin. This proof-of-concept will show the ability to connect various models in different systems through a digital engineering environment, which can be utilized by all stakeholders. The Digital Twin will reduce the time and costs of acquisitions as future concepts and systems are developed. By proving the feasibility of the digital twin, the Phase 1 solution will set the foundation to achieve the end goal of having a digital engineering environment that is dynamically connected to an accredited simulation environment, enabling seamless integration of digital engineering models with other systems and products.Ā
