Research abstract

Synaptic Aviation (“Synaptic”) is a commercial Aviation Artificial Intelligence (AI) software company that utilizes AI-powered solutions to optimize operations for airports, airlines, air cargo, and ground handling companies. Synaptic Aviation’s commercial technology has successfully increased the safety of commercial aviation jet bridges by automating service routines and providing real-time notifications, even in suboptimal conditions, to prevent risky behaviors that could cause harm or damage to personnel and aircraft. To further enhance operational safety and mitigate ground mishaps, Synaptic Aviation aims to develop its AI technology during Phase II to track safety and compliance in maintenance hangars and flight lines. With Synaptic Aviation, the Air Force can adapt this commercial solution to improve visibility into ground operations,  increase flight line safety, save lives, preserve aircraft, and detect ground operations risks to alert Airmen before mishaps occur.
