Research abstract

The US Navy PEO IWS has the task of creating, updating, and planning for efficient integration and deployment of mission capabilities into the fleet.  A key initiative to achieving this end is the establishment of the Integrated Combat System (ICS) managed out of PEO IWS X.  ICS will establish an Open Architecture for the integration and rapid deployment of a common component-based combat system requiring advanced technologies and refactored components and tools.  SimVentions created concepts, processes, and technologies under SBIR N171-012 to aid in the refactoring of systems that can be extended and adapted with new innovations to help PEO IWS rearchitect some of its key tools used for mission planning, management of large data sets, and component-based capability development.    To this end, SimVentions proposes new innovations and the application of tools and techniques to achieve refactoring of its mission and capability planning tools used across PEO IWS, specifically IWS-X.
