Research abstract

NP Photonics proposed to develop a low-cost, size, weight, and power (C-SWaP) laser transmitter at 2.1 micron that can be incorporated onto attritable platforms for long-range EO/IR sensing. The proposed laser transmitter has the advantages of low thermal management, high efficiency, and high beam quality. In the Phase I program, we have demonstrated the feasibility of developing a low C-SWaP laser transmitter at 2.1 micron using our unique fiber laser technology. In Phase II, a high-energy IR laser transmitter meeting or exceeding the requirements for attritable platforms will be developed and delivered.
