Research abstract

Bunker Supply's Phase II effort is focused on developing and refining its Electric Micro-Mobility Operations Vehicle (E-MOV) to meet the unique needs of the Department of the Air Force and support the Resilient Forward Basing mission. The E-MOV solution aligns perfectly with the DAF's Operational Imperatives, specifically Resilient Forward Basing (OI-5), and can help the Air Force distribute operations to dispersed locations, a key component of the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) concept. The E-MOV solution provides an all-weather, all-terrain, decentralized, electric micro mobility vehicle with the ability to comfortably transport up to four airmen and their tools at once. Bunker Supply's E-MOV solution is a highly innovative approach to addressing the logistical challenges related to aircraft maintainers on the flight line. E-MOV provides rapid mission deployment and range flexibility, increasing fleet readiness and reducing downtime. In addition, the solution enables agile communications for operational optimization between airmen and aircraft maintainers through the use of ATAK enabled mesh network enhanced vehicles for secure asset tracking and geofencing, enhanced situational awareness, and operations. Moreover, the E-MOV solution has significant commercialization potential beyond the defense sector, with a Total Addressable Market for e-mobility estimated to be around $500 billion by 2027. As a result, Bunker Supply's Phase II effort will focus on refining and scaling the technology to meet the needs of the Air Force and broader Department of Defense, with the ultimate goal of providing a cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable electric mobility solution that can support distributed operating bases and enhance the resilience of the Air Force's operations in the face of potential threats.
