Research abstract
Parley LabÆs proposal aims to answer the call by the ArmyÆs and the Defense Innovation Unit's (DIU) request for alternative communication and sensing methods in contested Anti-Access/Area-Denial (A2D2) environments. Our goal is to enable Army forces to access both military and civilian networks, enabling surveillance, deception, and protection operations in both competitive and armed conflict scenarios. We are guided by the Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) concepts. Our approach leverages physical and cloud open-architectures to facilitate secure and rapid information exchange between enterprise systems and soldiers on the ground, thereby enhancing the Army's capabilities in the information domain. Our objectives include developing cost-effective sensors to improve resilience through redundancy, creating new decentralized battle networks and supplementing high-end systems with multiple low-cost alternatives.
