Research abstract

Holos, in collaboration with Scale AI, presents an innovative solution to revolutionize Just-in-Time (JIT) training for the U.S. Air Force's Warfighter Interactions and Readiness Division, 711 HPW/RHW. This SBIR Phase II effort focuses on integrating advanced AI and VR technologies to develop a flexible, efficient, and engaging training platform for airmen. Leveraging Scale AI’s Donovan platform, we aim to generate diverse, accurate, and contextually relevant training scenarios, enhancing the adaptability and effectiveness of airmen in diverse mission environments. Our solution targets at least a 50% reduction in training content creation time for instructors, employing AI-driven tools not yet seen before in existing solutions to streamline the curriculum development process. This approach not only improves efficiency but also fosters creativity and responsiveness to emergent training needs. In addition, we focus on improving user engagement and knowledge retention rates by at least 30% compared to traditional training methods. This is achieved through immersive VR modules that offer interactive and realistic training experiences, facilitating deeper learning and skill retention. Another key aspect is the scalability and flexibility of our training platform. We aim to demonstrate this by successfully adapting and deploying at least 10 training modules to various mission scenarios, highlighting the platform's ability to respond rapidly to changing training demands. This feature ensures that the training remains relevant and up-to-date with the evolving nature of military operations. This project aligns with the strategic objectives of the DAF and DoD to modernize training methodologies, ensuring that U.S. military personnel are better prepared, adaptable, and effective in the face of new challenges. Our approach represents a significant advancement in military training, emphasizing flexibility, efficiency, and the application of cutting-edge technologies.
