Research abstract

Tipping Point Media (TPM) uses the virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, WebAR, mobile, eLearning, artificial intelligence and game engine technologies combined with a metacognitive approach to learning to create groundbreaking educational experiences. These immersive, multi-sensory experiences allow learners to navigate real-world situations with high levels of agency, enabling them to make mistakes as a part of the learning process in a fail-safe environment. The USAF sees a need for advanced training for the medics supporting troops on the front lines as challenges in providing life-saving support for large-scale and dispersed operations are expected for future military operations. Thus, the USAF is looking to advance their medical training options to upgrade medic skills. Moreover, the USAF is looking to employ VR/AR tools for all manner of training programs for new recruits, in order to not only modernize training methods but also reduce some of the dangers for maintenance novices. TPM aims to assess the unique training challenges of Airmen to adapt their solutions and fully align with the requirements of the USAF. TPM aims to improve mission readiness and overall organizational success for the USAF and the DoD by creating and Advanced Virtual E-Learning and Training Framework to significantly enhance training.
