Research abstract

Technical Abstract: PFAS - perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) continues to be a $1.56B problem for the Department of the Air Force, showing up on 240 (BRAC, Active/Reserve, ANG) installations and causing cancer, organ damage (liver, kidneys), high cholesterol, decreased vaccine efficiency in children, and impaired reproduction.  Flotration Technologies has designed, developed and delivered the Flotration Waste Stream Treatment Technology, a water treatment technology utilizing its patent pending Capillary Action Separation Technology (CAST) system that impacts pH levels of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and trichloroethylene (TCE) in contaminated wastewater streams to positively impact remediation, mitigation, and eradication of PFAS and TCE from aqueous waste streams. The CAST system adjusts pH without using chemicals or additives of any type. The adjustment in pH enhances the effectiveness of carbon and ion exchange technologies.
